Back at Stanford for a checkup again

Back at Stanford for a quick up over tomorrow. As usual we found an interesting looking noodle place and gave it a try.

On the way to Stanford

Actually. We made it here. Southwest did their usual fine job and we got a seat to ourselves. Makes it easier to manage the portable oxygen concentrator and the kid.

I was very proud of Josie. We had wheelchairs available at the airports we used them to move her luggage. She did all the walking on her own. Six to eight months ago that wouldn't have worked.

Once we landed someone was starving and she told me about it every two minutes or so I decided to check into our room and check out the local Asian cuisine. We pulled into something called the tofu house. It turned out to be a sort of Korean hotspot. I'm not actually sure what we got but we ate almost all of it. I moved the Kimchee out of the way to prevent accidentally ruining lunch. The had black rice with beans. So good but Josie picked out all the beans!

Happy 2012

To celebrate in style  . . .  we made oatmeal cookies on New Years Eve.

We all went to bed by 9 PM.

Then we ATE said cookies on New Years Day.

I think it will be a tradition!

Learning to measure and mix

They crack themselves up pretty good.  Notice hacked hair on one daughter

Happy New Year!

In order to preserve my sanity I'll be putting all new posts on my main blog.

Pink is such a nice color

And Josie is definitely showing a bit more pink since the little procedure during the cath.
Her O2 levels went from being  78% or less to being 86% or less - a real improvement in the way she looks.

Can't tell if she feels better.  We started immunizations on Friday and they have her a bit under the weather.

Here is hoping the next steps go as well

Cath Results - PS

Forgot to mention - Josie will be admitted overnight for observation.  So, I'll spend the night in the hospital with her as well.

Results of Josie's Cath

Not perfect -  but good enough.

I just got done talking to the cardiologist who did the procedures.  They not only took measurements they also did a small procedure to improve blood flow and oxygen levels in the blood.

She went through the procedures with no issues at all.

The bad news - she does have pulmonary hypertension - and that is the big concern right now.

The good news. . . she responded well to medication.  So they start her on medication tonight and we will work out a good dosage for her.  This will give her lungs a chance to destress and get everything in shape for the next step  - which will be surgery.

It could be better (if her lungs were not involved), but she is still in the game.  So far so good.

To all who sent prayers and good wishes for her THANK YOU.  The support and the uplift means more than you all can know.

Blessings and Happy New Year to everyone.
